The Health Care Flexible Spending Account (HCFSA) administered by Inspira (formerly PayFlex) is a great way to reimburse yourself for eligible medical, dental, and vision care for yourself and your dependents.

You don’t need to be enrolled in any other Sysco benefits to participate in the HCFSA, but keep in mind that if you enroll in the HSA medical plan, your HCFSA becomes a Limited Purpose FSA.

2025 Contribution Limit

• In 2025, you can save from $100 to $3,300.
• You will only be able to carry over a maximum of $660 from 2025 to 2026 for use in 2025, ONLY if you enroll in the HCFSA for 2026.

2024 Claims Filing Deadline

The deadline for filing 2024 Flexible Spending Account (FSA) claims is March 15, 2025. The deadline to incur eligible expenses for the 2024 plan year was December 31, 2024.

Unused funds up to $640 can carry over to 2025 if you enrolled in the HCFSA for 2025, but funds over $640 are forfeited.

"Use It or Lose It" Rule

The HCFSA has a "use it or lose it" rule.

• Claims must be incurred during the plan year (January 1 – December 31) and submitted by March 15 of the following year to be eligible for reimbursement.
• Any money you do not use by the end of the year is forfeited, with one exception (see the next bullet).
• You can carry over a maximum of $640 from 2024 to 2025 for use in 2025 ONLY if you enroll in the HCFSA for 2025. If you do not enroll in the HCFSA for 2025, you forfeit any balance.
• You can carry over a maximum of $660 from 2025 to 2026 for use in 2026 ONLY if you enroll in the HCFSA for 2026. If you do not enroll in the HCFSA for 2026, you forfeit any balance.

Prescriptions

You must have a prescription to claim expenses for over-the-counter medications, though there are exceptions. Visit the IRS website to learn more.

Keep things simple with the mobile app, where you can manage your account, make payments, withdrawals, and deposits, and use a bar code scanner to see if an item is an eligible expense.

If you have already downloaded the PayFlex mobile app, you will automatically be prompted to update it.
