CVS - Prescription Drugs

Aetna / CVS will approve a one-time emergency of a 10-day supply for refill medications while members work with their providers to get a new prescription sent in.

Maintenance Medications (refill too soon)

Visit an open CVS for a 10-day refill while working with your provider for a full refill. Pharmacies are familiar with the emergency process. If the pharmacy receives a “refill too soon”, lost, damaged, etc. reject, they can rerun the claim with a submission code of SCC-13 and it will allow the claim to process.

Specialty Medications

If you are within the emergency area and take a specialty medication, you will be contacted to discuss alternative delivery arrangements, if needed. If an override is needed for a specialty medical, specialty operations will contact account management for approval.

VSP - Enrollment Not Required

If you have been affected by the recent disaster, no-cost eye care and replacement eyewear are available, even if you're not currently a VSP member. Here’s how it works and you can learn more here:

  • VSP member: If you lost or broke your eyewear due to the hurricane, call VSP Member Services Support Line at 1-800-877-7195 to have your VSP benefits reinstated regardless of eligibility.
  • Individuals without VSP coverage: Contact your local American Red Cross chapter and request a VSP Vision Eyes of Hope® gift certificate.
