Yes. We’re moving to one carrier—Aetna—for many of our benefit plans in 2022. We are consolidating and streamlining our carriers to give you One Care Path, making navigating your benefits easier and more convenient. You’ll get the care you need without the hassle!

Beginning January 1, 2022, the following plans will be provided through Aetna:

  • All four Sysco-sponsored medical plans (Basic, HSA, PPO and National HMO)
  • Dental plans
  • Maternity support program
  • Behavioral health services (virtual and in-person), including behavioral health and substance use benefits
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
  • Critical Illness and Hospital Indemnity
  • Diabetes prevention and management

In addition, these plans are moving to Aetna preferred carriers in 2022:

With One Care Path, here’s what you can expect:

  • Coordination of care. With many of your benefits under Aetna, your providers will have easy access to your records, allowing them to provide you and your family with consistent care.
  • Easy access. Through Aetna, you will have convenient access to your Explanation of Benefits (EOBs), including claims assistance, health care advocacy and care coordination. No more running around to different websites—it’s all in one place.
  • One call for assistance and support. With One Care Path, a phone call will get you connected with the help you need—be it finding a provider, understanding a claim or getting information about a specialty benefit.

Yes. Aetna is one of the largest health care carriers in the U.S., with an estimated 39 million people relying on Aetna for their health care. Aetna has one of the largest networks in the country, with 1.2 million health care professionals, over 690,000 primary care doctors and specialists, and over 5,700 hospitals. In addition, Aetna offers tools and information to help you make decisions about your health care.

The 2018 Wellness Rewards Program window ended on November 1, 2017. If you and your spouse completed the requirements by November 1, 2017, and earned your Wellness Reward for 2018, your reward will be deposited in your healthcare expense account in January 2018! Don’t be concerned if your Wellness Reward amount is not displayed in the enrollment system on the Total Rewards Café in 2017. Your 2018 Wellness Reward amount will not appear in the system until January 2018.

Please note: If you and your spouse completed the requirements early — by October 1, 2017 — and did not choose to receive your reward a different way during 2018 Benefits Enrollment, you will receive your reward as a credit to the medical plan premium taken from your paycheck each pay period in 2018.
