Voluntary benefits like Hospital Indemnity, Accident Plan, Critical Illness insurance, Legal Services, and Identity Theft protection are offered during your benefits enrollment period and are part of your overall benefit selection process. For more information, see the Benefits Guide.
Hospital Indemnity insurance, offered by Aetna, helps you cover unexpected out-of-pocket expenses when you or a covered dependent are admitted to the hospital for a covered illness or injury. Critical Illness insurance, also provided by Aetna, provides a lump-sum benefit if you or a covered family member is diagnosed with a covered illness, such as a heart attack or stroke. The lump sum can be used to help pay for expenses not covered by your medical plan.
The Accident Plan pays a lump-sum benefit directly to you after a covered accident. Your benefit amount is based on the covered expenses and treatments you receive. You can use the money to pay your medical plan deductible, accident costs, or other expenses. You do not have to enroll in a Sysco medical plan to have Accident Plan coverage.
